Anne Kadet was tired of the increasing prices of food. When she decided to adhere to the Paleo diet, she wanted to cut down on the cost.

In order to follow the diet as well as get all the nutrients her body needed, Kadet began searching for other ways to get the protein and vitamins the Paleo diet requires but for a cheaper price.
"I couldn't help notice that my dog's high-end kibble, like my Paleo diet, is high in protein, grain-free, and gluten-free," she said.
Once Kadet made that discovery, she ate dog food for almost an entire week, The Huffington Post reported. Meals consisted of both kibble and wet food and she ate Milk-Bones for snacks. Her strange dieting resulted in two pounds of weight loss and low blood sugar. Kadet said her blood sugar was "the ultralow end of the ideal range, even better than when I was eating paleo."

The dry Kibble was "dry and gritty" and often had a "nutty, slightly sour taste." Half way through the bowl of the dry food Kadet said her jaw began to get tired.
Canned meals also varied in taste. Some tasted "metallic and disturbingly bland" and others Kadet found "delicious."
Besides for her dishes being drastically reduced, Kadet found her energy levels to be through the roof. However, Kadet has not stayed on a strict dog food regime.

Experts explained to her that dogs require different vitamins and different amino acids than human beings, Newser reported. Dogs also make their own Vitamin C, which humans are not able to produce on their own.
Kadet said if she was given the choice between "real" food and dog food, she'd choose dog food every time.
