Cambodia is still a country MOST Singaporeans would never think of spending their weekend at! She is famous for having one of the 7 wonders of the world: Angkor Wat at Siem Reap and of course people know about this place from the great ambassador, Angelina Jolie, who adopted so many kids from Cambodia and filmed TOMB RAIDER back then.
The place I am situated in for the past 5 years is Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia. It's only an hour and 30 minutes flight ride from SIN-PHN. Yup! Nearer than BKK! Just like going from Pasir Ris to Jurong with heavy traffic jam.
I fly up and down SIN-PHN-SIN (SIN = Singapore & PHN= Phnom Penh) pretty often – sometimes once a month or at most once every two to three months and under my own expenses! Nothing to do with BUSINESS! I am only entitled to a 1 round trip ticket to SIN upon completion of 1 year of service! And that sucks.
Well, tickets from PHN-SIN-PHN is rather affordable via budget air and it ranges from US$190-$300. The reason why I fly back home at times is because I can't stand the stress at work and I just need to go back to Singapore to cover events (which is my passion), clear my mountainous clothes as the FLEA markets in Singapore DO NOT HAVE A SPACE FOR ME! (So Flea organizers who are reading this please KEEP A SPACE FOR ME SO I CAN CLEAR MY JUNK!)
But most of my time I'm always in Phnom Penh and I hold a job as a Personal Assistant. Of course my designation has other overlapping positions due to restructuring of the current management system (which is in-charged by me also) I work for 8 hours for 6 days a week and I have a pretty interesting job scope. I took up this challenge to come all the way here to work things out in my life when it wasn't on the right track five years back!
As for my passion in blogging, I joined as a MFP Blogger and only got really involved this year! And I found out that my blogs weren't very focused and it was like abit of everything; I could say "ROJAK" in the begining. But after being more active in MFP I realised my passion was to be a BEAUTY/LIFESTYLE blogger!
Finally after like years of blogging I found my direction and I really want to say Thank you to the MFP TEAM for giving me so much opportunities and exposure, for allowing me to meet people in the industry and straighten my life. And I really finally found a real goal and path in my future!
But how do I actually survive 2 countries concurrently?
Well first, I have the MAGIC TOOL call internet and this basically bridges everyone in the GLOBE together even we are miles apart. So communication for these 2 countries are normally via EMAIL and Whatsapp!
I carry 2 numbers one for SIN and one for PHN. And for all my blogging needs, they are actually managed by the MFP TEAM so if I have a holiday here, I'll just plan my schedule and fly back to SIN and FULLY UTILISE EVERY SINGLE DAY WISELY! That's a MUST!
I do have social media(s) that keep me updated with latest news of Singapore and Cambodia instantly when I just scroll on my News Feed. If you ain't in my social media accounts, you might want to follow me and check how I bridge this 2 countries together.

Cambodia and Singapore are TWO REALLY DIFFERENT countries - the surroundings, the people, the technology… it's just different. But THANK GOD I have good adaption to places and cultures.
Check out my social media accounts for more of my everyday country to country updates. I hope I inspire Singaporeans to be more adventurous for at least once in your lifetime to stay somewhere foreign and from there you appreciate and live life. And to REDISCOVER YOURSELF.
