The Worst Beauty of the 2015 Golden Globes Will Make You Wish Contouring Didn't Exist

The 2015 Golden Globes have come and gone, but there are some beauty looks we’re still talking about.

While there were so many gorgeous dresses, there were also plenty of fashion fails–many of which also involved some rather unwise makeup and hair choices. From bad bronzer to poor attempts at contouring to hair that inexplicably matches the wearer’s dress, this is the worst beauty of the Golden Globes!

By the end of this list, you’ll wish contouring just plain didn’t exist.

Heidi Klum

It looks like Heidi’s been hanging out with Taylor Swift because she’s starting to get the same so-bronze-I-might-be-crispy look all over her complexion. Normally, that hair would make this look a win, but the bronzer and self-tanner instead give her a weathered, slightly radioactive hue that clashes with the blonde.

Lena Dunham

As per usual, Lena went so far overboard with her makeup that you’d have to deep sea dive it find her self restraint. This sleek bob is so good it almost makes up for it (see our best makeup list), but that liner is so heavy-handed, it makes you wonder if she was heading to the Golden Globes or trying to get a job at Hot Topic.

Allison Williams

Speaking of heavy-handed cast members of Girls, Allison Williams’ hair had the potential to look nice, but then she poured so much gloss serum on it, it looks like she bathed in olive oil, then just shrugged and went to the Golden Globes.

Taryn Manning

Oof, Taryn, what’s going on here? Colorblocking + hair =/= good red carpet look.

Giuliana Rancic

Another year, another Giuliana look that is just plain ridiculous. Stop with the contouring, pretty please–it looks like you’re baking from the inside out.

Katie Cassidy

Did everyone just unanimously agree to wear too much blush and bronzer this evening or was there a dress code memo I missed…?

Jennifer Lopez

Normally, I like J. Lo being her over-the-top J. Lo self, but in this case, it was just way too much. Too many highlights, too much volume, enough eyeliner to make a grown Robert Smith cry…it’s just a lot. A dress that dramatic calls for a glowing complexion, flowing or at least neat hair, and minimal eye makeup. Instead, we got a child beauty pageant contestant.

Lana Del Ray

It sure didn’t help that Lana wore a Leg Avenue Little Mermaid-knockoff costume, but man, this is boring, blah, overdone hair and makeup. On the plus side, she now looks remarkably like Ursula the Sea Witch.

Melissa McCarthy

We hated her show choir-esque look, and sadly, her hair matched up to that mood. It made her look 30 years younger–and definitely not in a good way.

Chrissy Teigen

Ooooh, Chrissy Teigen. Somebody should’ve offered you a bobby pin.

Jennifer Aniston

No more bronzer for any of you celebrities. No more! You clearly cannot restrain yourselves. This is why we can’t have nice things contouring palettes. To be fair, Justin Theroux looks like he’s made of wax here, so perhaps it’s just the lighting.

Zosia Mamet

It seems that everyone in Girls just aims to get on the worst dressed lists for trolling purposes. In this case, Shoshanna got overzealous with her grayish purple palette and matched her hair to her dress. Now, while I’m not exactly one to talk considering my hair is also totally gray, I also have the good effing sense not to wear a color that is identical to my weird hair.
