Jessica Hart is one cool Aussie girl. She got her start in modeling from a magazine competition, is one of the few models who can rock a front tooth-gap, has really awesome personal style, and has also strutted her stuff at the Victoria’s Secret runway show. Considered a kind of sunshine-y girl-next-door in her home country, Hart has joined another famous Australian export, model Miranda Kerr, with the launch of her own makeup line: LUMA.
Featuring 18 different products (ranging from eye shadow and illuminator to mascara and makeup brushes), the collection was born from Hart’s love of makeup—after all, as a model she spends hours in the makeup chair learning new tips and tricks. “About four years ago I realized I had a huge love and a lot of respect for makeup, and with everyone always asking me what I was wearing I decided to create my own line,” says Hart. “My beauty philosophy is very much less is more so I wanted to create a makeup line that enhances a woman’s natural beauty, not covers it up.”

With fans such as socialite Julia Restoin-Roitfeld wearing the line, there’s no doubt that Hart’s all-natural approach (plus her star power), is right on the mark. The line contains no parabens, synthetic fragrances or mineral oils, isn’t tested on animals, and is 100% Australian-owned. “We’ve managed to maintain all this and still ensure that the range is sold at an attainable price point,” explains Hart. “There is not one product in the range that has not had my touch and 100% approval.”
For an Australian girl, sticking to all-natural products is essential. With a culture highly engaged in healthy food, exercise, and lifestyle, choosing natural ingredients over synthetic ones is often high on the beauty lover’s priority list. The range is also designed to enhance your natural features, which is does through a collection of taupe, copper, and peach hues. “One of the best tips I’ve learned on set is the importance of illuminator, and the many different ways to use it to highlight areas of your face. I apply mine to my brow bones, cheekbones and even upper lip,” says Hart. “I’ve also learned to use products that compliment my coloring and enhance my natural features, which is what the LUMA range is all about!”
