My Top 5 Favourite Cafes

The café hopping trend has been around for quite some time, and I’ve explored a few cafes with my boyfriend and friends. Here are my top 5 favourites so far! (Disclaimer: I haven’t been to many cafes, but these are my favourites as of now, based on taste, price and location.)

Kith Café

They have 2 branches and I’ve only visited the one at Park Mall so far, due to its convenient location. Flavorful food that comes in big portions, yay! They have breakfast menu, pasta and pizza; bound to suit everyone’s tastebuds even in big group outings. The only problem would be that this place is a little on the expensive side.

My favourites: Big breakfast, carbonara, truffle fries

Strictly Pancakes

Who can say no to pancakes seriously? Not me. I was thrilled when my boyfriend brought me to this place that sells pancakes and only pancakes. A 10 minutes walk from Dhoby Ghaut MRT Station, pretty convenient I say. Plain, savoury and dessert pancakes, they have it all. Personally, I prefer savoury to sweet, so I haven’t got to try their dessert pancakes yet.. There’s one with Kinder Bueno on top, looks good though! Price is pretty affordable, and my only complaint would be that the drinks menu is kinda boring.

My favourites: Potato leeking cheese, Garlic buttered prawns

Ice edge café

This was one of the first few cafes we explored while the café-hopping trend just started, and it has definitely made an impact on me. Ice edge café is located 10 minutes from Kovan MRT station and 5 minutes away from Lola’s Café. The menu was really extensive, I remember taking a really long time to decide on my food. The usual price is kinda expensive to be honest, but they have quite a bit of ongoing promotions at off-peak timings so it is not that expensive.

My favourites: Gelato float (black cow), Buffalo wings, pesto cream chicken, prawn pesto cream linguine

Lola’s café

Lola’s café is really near to Ice Edge Café, just a mere 5 minutes walk from Kovan MRT! I was attracted to this café mainly because of the pasta with truffle cream. I’m a huge fan of cream pastas and truffle fries FYI, so a truffle cream pasta is a MUST TRY for me! Price is pretty average and they are also popular for their desserts (which I was too full to try, sadly).

My favourites: Bacon and Mushroom Spaghetti in Truffle Cream Sauce

D’good café

This café is conveniently located a stone’s throw from Holland Village MRT station. Food is pretty affordable and their menu consists of pastas, mains, breakfast sets and their super popular cheesecakes (which was sold out when I wanted to order a slice to try). Also, their dedicated barista has been busy working on new drink concoctions that you might want to check out, such as oolong sea salt ice tea latte and more. Oh, and they do latte art on your hot drinks, definitely a big plus (and soooo Instagram worthy hehe).

My favourites: Carbonara, Green tea latte
