It was just years ago when shopping for Hari Raya mean buying the traditional baju kurungs and kebayas.
Nowadays, traditional wear has an added touch of modernity. Their designs are so varied that one will be spoilt for choice. Be ready to see the exciting play of fashion on the baju kurungs and kebayas, with exquisite detailing that adds glam and sophistication in ZALORA’s ZALIA collection.
We did a short interview with the very creative people behind ZALORA to find out more about their ZALIA collection for this year’s Hari Raya.
What are some of the highlights of Zalora’s Hari Raya collection?
The 2015 ZALIA collection drew inspiration from the painting 'The Supper at the Ball' by 19th century leading German artist Adolph Menzel. As such, the latest ZALIA collection infuses the 19th century glamour with contemporary design. From the lavish architecture and interior design of that era to the dazzling chandelier adorned with beautiful jewels and exquisite diamonds, the collection brings the splendor of royal court balls to this festive season.
What are some of the fashion trends in Hari Raya apparels this year?
The collection is overflowing with intricate embellishments, sophisticated embroideries, hand beading, delicate crochet placement lace as well as unique prints on jacquard that are exclusively created in-house. This year's colour palette is a mix of bold colours like metallic gold, midnight blue, audacious red, soft pastel shades, as well as the classic black and neutral ivory. Customers can expect pieces made of classic fabric like soft chiffon and satin in ball gown forms and flattering mermaid shapes, creating modern feminine silhouettes.
