One of the major reasons people lack drive and think they could not achieve their ambition is due to low self-esteem. Therefore, if you could deal with your self-esteem and level it up, it means you can start feeling more motivated and achieve that success you always dreamt of having.
I believe that self-esteem could be tuned and you just need to turn it on.
Low self-esteem truly holds you back and stops you from living your life the fullest. But in all honesty, we all experience low self-esteem from time-to-time. All you have to do is be aware of it so you can snap out of it.
Below are measures that will help you achieve the healthy self-image you need to succeed, and it's easier than you think.
#1 Look Good To Feel Good
You don’t have to look drop dead gorgeous every time you walk out of your house and spend 3 hours dressing up and putting on your best make up routine.
The key is to take a little extra pride, and a little more effort in your preparation when getting ready can work wonders for your self-esteem.
I believe if you truly believe that you look good, you feel good too. Others also respond favourably when you look sharp. I hate having a meeting with someone who doesn’t dress sharp, as it doesn’t just reflect badly on yourself but it also gives off a signal that the person lacks respect of the person they are meeting and that the meeting is not of any importance to him or her. Therefore for business, it is so important sharp.
#2 Aim High But Not Too High
Always set an expectation for yourself, ask yourself where would you like to be with your career when you are at 20, 25, 30, 35, 40 years old…etc. What would you like to be doing? Where would you be living? What would you like to achieve every 5 years block is a pretty good way to make sure you push yourself to meet your ultimate aim.
Follow through on them, and achieve them, you will strengthen your self-confidence and self-belief. Even if you don’t reach your ultimate aim, I feel you won’t be very far off too. So it is always good to aim high. But not too high, be realistic and if your expectations are unrealistic and you fail to meet them, you will damage your self-esteem.
When you routinely succeed in achieving your aim, your self-esteem will skyrocket, and you will feel more confident that you can do anything you put your mind to.
#3 Step Outside Your Comfort Zone
If you want to achieve more and grow, you have to open up your mind and move beyond your comfort zone and conquer the unknown.
Only when you conquer your self-doubt, will you strengthen your self-esteem.
Believe in yourself, that when you put your mind to doing something, you may be pleasantly surprised when you achieve things that you never thought you could.
#4 Give Yourself a Pat On The Back
Don’t beat yourself up for failing or not achieving your goals. Give yourself a pat on the back and tell yourself that you need to keep trying. Make yourself want to do better next time. Then when you achieve something, pat yourself again on the back and reward yourself. You deserve it!
#5 There are no limits to your self esteem!
Self-esteem is a powerful tool to help you succeed. Sometimes, it can be mistaken for arrogance. True self esteem is an internal personal happiness about you and your life.
Are there limits to how happy you can be?
The answer is no. You can always increase your true self esteem. Everyone, even the most self confident positive thinkers, have moments of doubt. Everyone has the opportunity to raise their self esteem.
As you think about your self esteem, don't ever limit your expectations of what you can achieve. If you are prepared to work on your self esteem as part of your ongoing personal development, there are no limits to where you can go!
