If a woman can proudly swear by her favourite face creme, why can't it be the same for her choice of lubricant?

This sentiment brought up by Peder Wikstrom, Co-Founder of Ramblin' Brands, gave me something to mull over. Who would've associated skin care products to something used for sexual stimulation or aiding dryness? But hey, don't be too quick to write off the analogy; we're talking about caring for the most intimate part of our body, after all.
I'd like to believe that you girls know what products are suitable for your skin type and what you should avoid slathering on despite how tempting it is to own a gorgeously-packaged moisturiser or face mask - trust me, I know that torture. So if you would go the extra mile to find something that works best for your skin, then all the more you should be paying special attention to what is applied on your sensitive area.
For those who are sold upon seeing the organic label on beauty products, you'll be glad to know that the latest range of lubricants in town are formulated with natural extract from the licorice root, which makes it suitable for sensitive skin. Smile Makers personal lubricants contain two ingredients found in luxury skin care products, dipotassium glycyrrhizate (DPG) - the natural extract - from Japan, and Methylpropanediol from France. Dr. Komathy Rajaratnam, Founder and Aesthetic Physician of The Lifestyle Clinic points out that DPG, a soothing skin condition agent, is used by luxury Japanese skin care brands, while Methylpropanediol provides a silky and moisturising feeling during and after use.
Opting for water-based lubricants is a wise choice as well. "I recommend using water-based lubricants as they are not retained in your body and easier to wash off. They are also safe to use with latex contraceptives and can be used with silicone vibrators," says Dr. James Lee, Gynaecologist at Astra Women Specialists. He adds, "Avoid lubricants that contain parabens or fragrances, as these ingredients can cause irritation and itchiness."
I'm all for you ladies heightening your bedroom situation, but never at the expense of your health. Remember - choosing the right lubricant goes a long way ;)
