Olay’s advanced anti-aging line is now reformulated with the revolutionary Skin Energizing Technology based on breakthrough Cellular Bioenergetics science.
Harnessing ground-breaking insights from the rapidly growing field of Cellular Bioenergetics, Olay, the world’s number one facial care brand, today unveiled its exciting new anti-aging boutique upgrade with the newly reformulated Olay Regenerist.
Powered by Olay’s revolutionary Skin Energizing Technology, the New Generation Olay Regenerist range is proven to fight the look of skin fatigue, hydrating skin at the first touch and delivering accelerated and continued anti-aging results over time.
New and advanced Skin Fatigue Theory – a game-changer on how women approach anti-aging skincare
According to a recent Facebook poll conducted by Olay, 63 million women in the United States send their products to the skincare graveyard – a place in their home where they keep the products they don’t use regularly – because they aren’t seeing results fast enough.
Leveraging partnerships with established experts, Olay scientists have applied new-to-the-world insights from the explosive field of Cellular Bioenergetics to the understanding of aging skin, bringing a fresh answer to women’s frustration with their anti-aging skincare.
“In the past decade, science has witnessed a revolution in the field of Cellular Bioenergetics – the processes by which cells produce and consume energy. Breakthrough Cellular Bioenergetics research shows that aging reduces cells’ ability to produce energy and respond to stress, causing cells to age,” said Professor Mark Birch-Machin, Professor of Molecular Dermatology at the Newcastle University Institute of Cellular Medicine, University of Newcastle, United Kingdom.
Pioneering the application of Cellular Bioenergetics Science to skincare, Olay scientists introduced the Skin Fatigue Theory, which states that aged skin is less responsive to anti-aging ingredients than younger skin because of decreases in skin cell energy.
In a pioneering experiment, P&G scientists used a Cellular Bioenergetics imaging tool known as the 2- photon imaging system, to visualize energy molecules in skin of women aged between 20 and 60 years. In the course of this research, P&G scientists discovered a significant decline of cell energy levels with age.
The Skin Fatigue Theory challenges one of the common myths about skincare: Your products stop working after a period of time. In fact, your products may not be completely to blame. Our research suggests that due to a decline in cellular energy, aged cells do not have the functioning metabolism required to fully respond to anti-aging treatments. As a result, we see a slowed response to anti-aging treatments and visible skin improvement,” explained David Khoo, P&G Beauty Senior Scientist.
Newly Reformulated Olay Regenerist powered with Skin Energizing Technology
From the study, Olay scientists determined that an effective approach to fighting the look of skin fatigue is to boost aged cells’ ability to produce energy and its ability to respond to stress.
Armed with these insights, Olay has reformulated its signature Aminopeptide Complex with the revolutionary Skin Energizing Technology to help boost skin’s responsiveness to anti-aging ingredients.
The Olay Skin Energizing Technology comprises:
i. A potent blend of three anti-aging ingredients
ii. Increased levels of existing anti-aging ingredients by up to 200%**
iii. Formula optimization to increase penetration of anti-aging ingredients into skin’s surface layers
by up to 55%6
The potent blend of three anti-aging ingredients consists of: Niacinamide, which help maintains skin moisture barrier and increase natural exfoliation rates in the skin’s surface layers; Pal-KTTKS, which helps decrease the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and newly-added Olivem, a derivative of olive oil which has been shown to help increase the penetration of anti-aging ingredients into the skin’s surface layers and help decrease the look of fine lines and wrinkles. Cellular bioenergetics studies have shown that the combination of niacinamide, Pal-KTTKS and Olivem may help to increase the natural levels of skin energy and boost anti-oxidant protection in aged cells in vitro.
In addition, the levels of existing anti-aging ingredients have also been boosted by up to 200%** compared to the previous Regenerist formula, while the formula has also been optimized to increase penetration of anti-aging ingredients into skin’s surface layers by up to 55%, thus getting ingredients where they need to be for accelerated anti-aging results.
Accelerated anti-aging results
Based on studies conducted with hundreds of women across the world, Olay Regenerist Skin Energizing Technology has been proven to improve skin’s responsiveness and fight the look of skin fatigue by accelerating surface layer cell turnover, increasing brightness and decreasing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
As the star of the Olay Regenerist boutique, the new Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream has been proven to regenerate skin up to two times faster by boosting natural skin renewal in just five days, and reduce appearance of fine lines and wrinkles in just one jar. The new and improved Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream regenerates surface skin up to two times faster than a US$250 luxury cream, and hydrates better than 19 luxury creams in the US, costing up to US$500.
In the midst of filming her next blockbuster television film, Olay Regenerist Brand Ambassador, Jeanette Aw shares her thoughts on the New Generation Olay Regenerist. “Having tried the new Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream, my skin is brighter, firmer and feels more hydrated - with just one jar. Because of the nature of my job, I’m constantly in front of the camera. I need to take extra care of how I look, especially my skin. New Generation Olay Regenerist gives me younger, energized looking skin. Olay has definitely challenged what’s possible for my skin.”
