After a week of fashion extravaganza, finally we’re able to put our feet up and tucked away our fancy heels as Asia Fashion Exchange ended its fashion festival.
I’ve not seated for fashion show that many in a week as much as I did during Asia Fashion Exchange. Marina Promenade became a familiar place for us. Round the clock, under the cooling tent, sipping every flavour of Sanpellegrino and savouring Magnum Temptation Fruit ice-cream, which I reluctantly declined the next day.
Enviably watching model strutting down the runway became my routine and browsing through emerging designer collections at Blueprint Emporium was my exclusive window-shopping.
Seated front row at Audi Star Creation was almost surreal as I came face to face among the industry best merely distance away.
Finally, Singapore brings the fashion world to its attention at our very own “Fashion Week” at Audi Fashion Festival, which was a part of Asia Fashion Exchange. AFX aims to position Singapore as Asia’s leading fashion hub, and comprises four key pillars events.
These are Blueprint – a trade show that linked international buyers and emerging designers, Asia Fashion Summit – business conference through leadership insights on fashion topics for industry professionals, Audi Fashion Festival – showcasing international world class and top emerging designers and labels and Audi Star Creation, a regional fashion competition to spot budding talents.
This year Audi Fashion Festival and Blueprint Emporium moved to perfectly new venues, which were scenic facing Singapore famous skyline at Marina Promenade and the latter at The Pit Building.
It’s convenient as visitors/guests from AFF were able to visit or shop at Blueprint Emporium after the event.
AFX had successfully not only targeting traditionally to fashion industry alone but to consumers and public at large.
As Blueprint Emporium opened its door the next day after trade show event, consumers were able to experience first hand emerging designers brands without ever living the island. Such privileged only happened annually at AFX.

We were proud to see more Asian models walked the runway this year. The makeup used on models were kept simple yet chic which focus on Asian ethic heritage. Host of international brands, Asian and emerging designers displayed their passion on the runway with an outstanding array of creations and creative manipulations of fabrics.
Fashion is all about creating beautiful wearable clothes. What is fashion, when it can only be visually enjoyed but not worn?
Asia Fashion Exchange brilliantly covered all aspects of the fashion industry at large.
Bringing in international brands to Asian platform as the growing demand of Asia luxury market, promoting emerging designers to international buyers, encouraging Asia’s young fashion talents and most importantly AFX is steadily placing Singapore on the dot among the big fashion capital of the world.
