2015’s the year I started to get really into beauty products, both skincare and makeup. And I must say, I’m having a lot of fun, especially the joy when I discover a product that works brilliantly on me. So here are my top 10 favourite beauty products in 2015, starting with the skincare products first! I’ll definitely be reviewing these products on my blog in the upcoming months so I shall save my detailed thoughts on these products for then. ;)

1. Skinfood Black Sugar Line: Serum & Mask (Scrub)

I wonder why I did not discover Skinfood sooner?!?! Why did I not discover how amazing their Black Sugar line is before I went to Seoul last year?? I’d have bought at least a year’s supply back with me. But better late than never I suppose. And my goodness does the mask (scrub) smell good! Plus, it leaves my skin feeling so soft and silky, I can’t stop touching it.

2. Philosophy Cleansers: Daily Exfoilating Wash & Purity Cleanser

The last few months of 2015, I started trying out beauty products that use all natural/organic ingredients or dermatologist brands. This decision was partly spurred after a trip to a facial place on my “must-try” list following the advice of the facial therapist, a really lovely Japanese lady who really seems to know what she’s talking about. And so, I was convinced. My skin is generally quite alright, I don’t have acne issues; what I have though is the tendency to have clogged pores. Philosophy is the first brand I decided to try because I still have a travel size kit of that contain the above-mentioned cleansers. And I really what these products are doing to my skin.

Origins products’ next on my list!

3. Innisfree Volcanic Pore Clay Mask

As I mentioned earlier, I’m prone to clogged pores; this also means I’m prone to blackheads and whiteheads. I’m not the biggest fan of extractions at facials because really it hurts, it feels like someone’s trying to squeeze the life out of my face/skin. This pore clay mask leaves my pores feeling so clean, it’s ridiculous.

4. Kiehl’s Ultra Light Daily UV Defense Sunblock

I have a confession to make, I only started adding the sunblock into my daily skincare routine this month. I should be ashamed yes I know, especially when Singapore’s summer all year round, I’m definitely not doing my skin any favour. And with my mum being very prone to pigmentation issues, I should be doing everything I can to prevent that from happening. I think the reason why I never did include sunblock was because I never liked the smell nor how it felt on my skin. When I was still an active swimmer (when I was in secondary school), I never did wear sunblock. Well I hope that didn’t do too much damage haha. So I’ve been trying to find one sunblock that didn’t have that awful smell, neither should it feel greasy on my skin (especially when it’s going on my face). AND I FINALLY FOUND IT. Thank you Kiehls, your formula is great!

5. Missha Soft Blending Blusher Stick

The moment I saw this product from Missha, I knew I had to get it. Whenever I have shoots, I have to bring my blusher along with me because I need to pack on the colour since the harsh lights of the studio would wash the colour out. I don’t find bringing my blusher and brush out very hygienic because the brush cover always seem to come off, which means it leaves my brush exposed in my pouch and no longer clean. It’s also a little bit of a hassle to bring both. Which is why this blusher stick my Missha solves on my problems. It smells amazing, has pretty good colour payoff, and doesn’t take up much space at all in my pouch!

6. The Face Shop Face It Concealer Dual Veil

I love the dual ended feature of this concealer because both serve different purposes. It’s like having two concealers in one; one for undereyes and the other to cover blemishes. It does a pretty good job concealing what it needs to conceal too, and at such a pocket friendly price, this is a gem!

7. Clio Kill Brown Waterproof Brush Liner

This eyeliner is a bestseller for a very good reason. I love how easy it is to draw a really thin line, especially when drawing the flick at the end, thanks to the brush tip! And the brown shade is perfect! I never use a black eyeliner because I find that it looks too harsh against my skin tone.

8. Pony x Memebox Easy Glam Eyeshadow Palette 1

Yup, my favourite eyeshadow palette ain’t my Urban Decay Naked Palette (although I have two, and I love them too!), but this Pony x Memebox eyeshadow palette. I love the colour palette here really, it’s perfect. If I’m tight on space in my makeup pouch when I’m packing light, this is the only one I take (and need) because the left helps me to achieve a really natural eye look (just contouring really), and the right for when I want to add some colour to my eyelids. I have a penchant for peachy pink, purple-brown hues on my eyelids, and this palette gives me just that! I just reordered this palette because my current one’s almost done, so you know how much I like it. Btw, Pony is the makeup artist for CL!

9. Guerlain Meteorites Baby Glow

I discovered this product when I was booked for a Guerlain job. The makeup artist used this on me and I fell in love with how it made my skin looked. The finish is so so natural, and your skin just has this really nice glow to it. It’s like you have radiant, healthy skin! And plus it smells really lovely.

10. Etude House False Lashes (#2 Long Lash)

I never really liked wearing false lashes because I wasn’t able to find one that looks natural. I wanted one that will make people wonder if those are your actual lashes, lash extensions or falsies. Hahaha. And I finally found the pair of false lashes that do just that!

To discovering more beauty products that I’ll fall in love with this coming 2016! :)
