My 2016 Resolutions

I made my last new year’s resolutions in primary school, and I haven’t made any since. Because, because, because… I can never keep them. Oops.

But then again nobody is going to kill me if I can’t keep them isn’t it? It’s 2016 so let me try it again!

1. Eat Healthily

Truth to be told, I’ve got very bad eating habits:
- I don’t really care what I eat as long as I like it.
- I love fast food.
- I don’t snack much but I cannot resist Ruffles cheddar cheese flavoured potato chips and I eat quite a lot of it.
- I skip my meals if I want to sleep, or if I’m lazy to go and buy.
- Hates drinking plain water so my coffee replaces water and I’m drinking waayyyyy too much coffee

I feel the need to cut down on fast food and processed food badly because they make up a big part of my food intake. My doctor also advised me (all the time) to eat more red meat since I have iron deficiency. I don’t snack a lot except for potato chips so I guess I shall cut myself some slack for that. But I must must must eat my regular meals and not skip meals just because I want to sleep or I’m lazy to head to the coffee shop to buy. Lastly, I need to cut down on my coffee intake! But this will be the toughest one to tackle!

2. Start exercising

How long haven’t I been exercising? 5 years? or 10 maybe? Hahahaha…

I’m a total couch potato and my hobbies include rotting on my bed and reading a book and melting into my sofa and reading another book. Sigh. My stamina has gotten so bad in recent years that climbing a flight of stairs makes me breathless.

But phew, luckily I found something that I enjoy doing and yet allows me to workout at the same time. And what’s even better, it’s indoors and there’s air-con!

I’ve started ice-skating after bidding it goodbye since many many years back. Let’s hope this will last! I’ve been heading to JCube’s ice-skating rink every weekend. Join me if you all are free!

3. Travel to places that I haven’t been to before.

Every nook and cranny on earth is worth a visit. There is something to learn everywhere. The world is so big and I don’t want to be trapped and be a frog in the well. There is just so much to see.

On the plans are London in March, Mongolia or South Africa in June, and maybe somewhere with beautiful autumn colours in Oct. Let’s hope all the schedules and plans work out well so that I can experience the different cultures, and marvel at mother nature’s great work of art.

4. Hello photography!

Does anyone remember I was from NUS Photography Club? I don’t remember being in the club either… Hahaha! Well, that’s history and I haven’t been playing with my DSLR for the longest time. I have totally lost touch and I can only use it to shoot simple stuff. I want to pick up photography again in 2016! Let me stand behind the lenses again and all the experienced photographers do guide me along and give me some tips ok?

Stefanie was my model for this article http://www.myfatpocket.com/lifestyle/entertainment/15-tips-on-how-to-pose-for-travel-photos.html and I really had fun shooting her that afternoon. And that was when my hands got itchy again. I want to shoot more people this year… Shoot shoot shoot…

5. Spend more time with my family

I’m quite sticky to my parents but ever since I moved out into my own house, I see less of them. Although I make it a point to visit them at least once a week, I still think I should bring them out for activities more often.

I would really love to bring them along on trips with me. It is definitely so much more expensive because now that I’m all grown up, all trips’ expenses are on my sister and me. But really, I don’t mind spending on them, because they have spent so much on me and their love for me is so unrivalled. LOL. But then again it isn’t easy to drag them along. I’ll try, hahaha.

So that’s 5 resolutions I made this year. Going to try my best to keep them! Happy 2016!
