With our busy schedules, most of us go to the gym immediately after work, and usually with a full face of makeup on. That seems like the most convenient way out for us -- looking good while we flex our biceps and work our abs, in case we bump into a cute guy at the gym.

However, at the back of our mind there is always this little nagging voice telling us that it is not a good idea to wear makeup while we are exercising. But how bad can a little powder get? We can buy strong cleansers to remove them at the end of the day, no?
The cons of working out with makeup on
1. Streaky face you

No this is not surprising. With all the perspiration running down your face, you are sure to look like streaky bacon while you are at it. And that is just the foundation. What about your eyeliner and mascara that is smudging onto your eyelids and undereye area? Not exactly a very good move if you are waitng for a cutie to appear though.
2. Your skin can't breathe

Our skin needs to breathe during a workout. With all the perspiration, open pores and heat mixing together with our makeup, the skin is going to get clogs over time. It may also result in uneven skin texture over the long run.
3. Breakouts

When you mix persipration with makeup when your pores are open during a workout, you are asking for trouble. Pores will get clogged and over time skin starts to get congested with whitehead, blackheads or acne.
What if I must wear makeup for my workout?

For someone who feels uncomfortable going out bare face, it can be a giant step to take to go to the gym with no makeup on. If you really need to have a little something on your face, opt for a lightweight tinted moisturizer instead of going full on with liquid foundation. Always check the label to see that the products you are using are non-comedogenic and always do a thorough cleansing as soon as you can after that.
