Cara Loren isn’t your typical fashion blogger. At 24 years old, Loren has not only amassed an influential social presence for her approachable style sensibilities, aspirational workout regimen, and effortless beauty tutorials, but she’s also managed to carve out a successful self-made career while being a mother of two young boys. Needless to say, we want in on whatever Loren does to manage her time efficiently.
We tag along with Loren on a typical Sunday as she preps for her busy week ahead. Follow along as she shares tips, from her no-fail protein bread recipe to completing her look with a spritz of Juicy Couture’s Viva la Juicy Rosé, for getting a handle on life as a busy, working parent.
"One of the first and most important—necessary, sometimes annoying—parts of the day is simply getting ready."
"I usually try and have an idea of what kind of look I want to wear for that day, based on what my plans are and what I need to get done. On this particular day, I felt like wearing a comfy yet sassy ASOS A-line dress with some Steve Madden heeled sandals."
"I topped off my look with Juicy Couture's Viva la Juicy Rosé. I honestly feel incomplete without my perfume on, and adding a beautiful fragrance adds to my whole look. This charming #RoseEveryday scent keeps me feeling fresh and gives me that energizing citrus sparkle."
"Scheduling and organizing the week ahead of time is one of the most important things my husband, Brod and, I do to start the week. It keeps us on the same page and helps us prioritize our time in the most effective way possible. We also use this time to discuss new ideas and concepts that might be on our mind."
"Part of my Sunday meal prep is making sure I have all the items and ingredients I need to be prepared for the upcoming week. Sometimes I stray from my schedule or mix up the order of meals, but for the most part, this preparation helps me stay on task and stick to eating healthy."
"One of my favorite snacks to prepare is protein bread. It's quick and easy to grab when I'm in need of a treat. And I'm in need of a treat often!"
"Here is my protein pancake recipe:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees, combine the dry ingredients in a bowl and mix well.
1/2 cup coconut flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 scoop vanilla protein powder (I have also used cookies and cream)
1/2 tsp cinnamon
Add in the wet ingredients.
1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt (I use Chobani)
2 whole eggs
1.5 cups egg whites
Bake for 40 minutes and sprinkle a little more cinnamon on top, if you so desire."
"Finished product! I love putting a little something on top—this plain Greek yogurt mixed with a dash of calorie-free syrup is the perfect complement to the bread."
"Finally, it's time for bath and bed with my boys, Hanes and Arrow. This is easily my favorite part of the day. I love my guys, and they seriously crack me up every night with some new quirky or funny thing they do. I usually end up soaked by the end of it."
"Cuddles after bath, chilling on our bed, and telling stories is the best part of winding down the weekend. The boys have the biggest imaginations and love pretending to be superheroes as they tackle Brod over and over. I love spending that quality time with them, just simply 'being."
"I'm lucky little Arrow bug didn't pee on me ... or did he?! I love my boys so much, and late-night cuddles with them before bedtime never gets old. No matter how busy I get, taking the time to be 'present' with my family is extremely important."
