It is ironic when sometimes the shoes we love, may not exactly be the best for our feet. I used to wear shoes that make a statement, without being at the expense of my wallet. These days, I find myself finding and buying shoes that provides me feet comfort over style instead.
I loved the cool, funky, punky or fun kind of looks. I’ve gotten this pair of electric blue with metal and chains online for less than $20! I wore it often but I had to avoid rainy days as the soles were a little slippery.
I also adore shoes that are cheap, comfy enough to go shopping in and yet at the same time gives me a little boost in height! Bought this soft grey pair in Taipei for around $12? It paired easily with all of my casual and laidback outfits. I wore it many times before my sweaty feet damaged it. ;-p
The shoes that give the highest level of comfort is my running shoes! It caters to my arch in the foot and gives me the balance and grip. I’m wearing Skechers here.
Recently, Mom started buying shoes from St Louis (I thought they only sell bags!). She gave me her first pair as it was a little small for her. It’s black and a tiny bit auntie-ish with the beige-brown rubbery soles but it is really super comfy! I went to buy this white pair there too and I love it. It’s quirky and although with the same soles, this pair is not auntie-ish.
After visiting TCM physicians who told me to stop wearing flat flats, I have been more alert in choosing the right shoes for myself. Definitely, comfort over style for now. :)
