Keeping your meals in check is not an easy task, especially since all the food and snacks that we love are usually very unhealthy for us. I noticed that majority of the girls always have the thought of cutting down their meals in order to have a fresh start on their "weight loss diet", which is a very unhealthy way to do. My tip is to constantly remind yourself on the benefits/result of your meals.
Let me motivate you with my before and after eating clean picture of my body in just 13 days.
No Photoshop for these pictures, I swear! If it's possible for me, it's possible for you. I'm putting my photo up and hoping to motivate people to work towards a healthy lifestyle and diet either for you or your family.
Eating on a regular time
My mom always prepare meals on time and I notice that I don't get hungry during night time or midnight, neither will I crave for unhealthy snacks. Try not to let more than about 4 hours go by between meals or snacks.
Benefit:
Steady meal timing helps regulate your digestive system, blood sugar and insulin levels, and appetite.
Switching to brown rice
My parents decided to switch to organic brown rice ever since I talked to them about eating healthier together. Having a healthy diet is easier if your loved ones are motivated to change their diet along with you. Eating healthy is hard if you're surrounded by people that don't. You'll need to have a lot of determination and discipline when you're around them. So the best way is to talk to your family members first.
Benefit:
Brown rice is rich in selenium which reduces the risk of developing common illnesses such as cancer, heart disease and arthritis. There are tons of benefits, Google it up and you'll be shocked to find out that it also promotes weight loss!
Avoid eating fried foods
Deliciously harmful fried foods contain too much unneeded calories along with extra fats! All these fats will be soaked up into every available space you have in your body and you'll struggle to get rid of those extra pounds. Opt for steam food, your body will thank you later!
Hopefully this three tips will help you out, remember to introduce more veggies and fruits to your diet, less sugar, less oil. Eating healthy doesn't mean no meat, some people think that meat = no fats. That's not true.
A little guide for you guys:
Meat such as chicken breast, chicken thigh, salmon fillet, turkey breast are all good protein. Surprisingly, tofu and shrimp are also protein.
Complex carb, I usually go for brown rice or sweet potatoes which are my favourites. Otherwise, wholewheat pasta is yummy too!
Some of the uber delicious and healthy stuffs I add in my food to spice the meal up are broccoli, egg white, asparagus, cherry tomato, edamame, and sweet corn!
Remember to work your meals out and make sure you don't feel like your meals are a punishment but a reward for your hard day's work. Otherwise chances are you'll give up!
Stay healthy everyone!
