Blogging these days are not just about rants and whatnots. It has become an industry by itself and tie-ins with brand name products are not uncommon. The ever expanding social media sphere has even made it possible for the lucky ones to even generate a more than decent income through blogging.
There are pitfalls no doubt when one shares a piece of one’s life publicly but with the right handling, planning and clever thinking, being a blogger could literally turn you into a much loved and respected celebrated figure.
Yutakis James is every inch the online celebrity blogger
Looking as if he just stepped out of a movie billboard or an Asian pop idol poster even, Yutakis James is every inch the online celebrity blogger, netizens have come to know him by.
Standing at 1.89m and being of Chinese and Japanese mix has certainly stood him out from peers. Beneath the glamour and fame however, lies a savvy, intelligent and hardworking entrepreneur.
A visit to his blog/website is almost akin to stepping into a walk-in wardrobe of sorts. Instead of clothes and shoes, Yutakis’ site is filled with photos of himself, which he readily and happily admits. What is simply amazing and apparent in each (self-taken) photo is the love the camera seems to have for him which reflects this young individual’s other penchant- photography.
This (technical) ability to find angles to compliment his already engaging look is one example of his commitment towards his craft.
It’s not surprising that Yutakis has a large following throughout his different social media platforms. Despite his fame and success which has seen him land sponsorships from well-known brand names in the fashion and beauty industry, Yutakis is an approachable and pretty much down-to-earth person. Never one to ignore a fan’s acknowledgement, Yutakis’ positive demeanour is welcoming as it is infectious.
Yutaki and his BFF relationship with his Twinnie, Miyake.
Yutakis is perhaps well-known for his Ulzzang look. Together with close friend and fellow blogger, Miyake, they are both arguably the epitome and perfect representation of the look which emphasise on perfect skin and an innocent child-like appearance.
The Ulzzang craze is yet another Korean export achieved through make-up techniques or plastic surgery even.
Yutakis and Miyake have been long time friends and they support each other’s endeavours often giving the other much encouragement in their similar craft. They’ve even ventured to Korea together on a photography project which was documented in an online photo book. They’ve also been involved cosplay as part of Anime conventions.
Yutakis’ popularity has seen fans setting up Ullzang fan-sites for him. His dedication and commitment has seen him travelling to the likes of Paris, Italy, China (to name a few).
Photobooks. Travels. A Flower Boy's Tale.
These travels are well documented in his photo books which is an immaculate collection of beautifully crafted and taken photos which has him as the protagonist. All self-styled and self-shot, his last book A Flower Boy’s Tale in particular, has even been published as a hard copy.
Yutakis James has come a long way since the day he started blogging and even though Andy Warhol once said that everyone will have their 15 minutes of fame; with the sheer dedication and commitment Yutaki has continually shown throughout the years of honing his craft, his popularity does not seem likely to wane anytime soon.
He will continue to inspire and expand his fan base with photo published and blog entry.
