Thank You Mom for Being My Best Friend

During my childhood, life wasn't easy for us. My brother and I were really young back then and there were times when my mom doesn’t have anyone as her pillar of support.

We moved over from Thailand to Singapore for better education. My dad was always busy working and travelling, to the extent that “family” to me, consists of just my mom, my brother and me. Right now, I can confidently announce that I am my mom’s pillar of support.

“Action speaks louder than words”, my mom is gentle and generous at heart. Growing up through these years, her actions have proven her abilities.

I look to her for comfort, assurance and advice for ANYTHING & EVERYTHING - she’s my Best Friend. What truly connects us together is the transparency, the openness to each other, and how we can always share genuine laughter together. Sometimes, when I feel lonely at home, I’ll just pop by her workplace and ask her out for dinner. We also share our deepest darkest secret which we don’t want others to know. She kept my secrets well, and, I kept her secrets well too!

I remembered years back, I ended my previous relationship and I called her on the phone, crying. I immediately asked her to hurry down to pick me up at whatever location I was at. My mom is always the first person I think of when I feel like pouring out my emotions. “Mommy, let's go for drinks tonight, I want to be happy,” I told her.

Best Friends do crazy and wild things together and my mom got her best friend bucket list checked! She recently celebrated her birthday in a club/bar at Highlanders. Most of her colleagues gathered to celebrate her birthday with a huge bottle of Vodka and Shawn got her Plum shots. Woah, it was a hell of a crazy night… We partied together and mom danced with Shawn and we literally went wild with laughter! Hahahaha. We had crazy pictures and videos together too.

This is merely one part of our BFF moments together! There’s so much more to be shared with you guys.

Anyway, Mother’s Day is approaching. Don’t forget to share some love by taking them out for coffee and spend some girly gossipy time together like I did.

Love, Priscilla
