Not many people know that my childhood is not perfect. This world taught me to live my life the tough way. I lost my father when I was 8 years old and that made me wake up and realised that life wasn't going to be as easy as it looks. I kind of miss having a father, miss having a complete family.
My mom is a very strong woman. She raised me and my brother as a single mother. She didn’t finish schooling so she couldn’t work outside. I still remember how my mom always wakes up early in the morning to make and sell kuehs, to earn money for our studies. Her pair of hands worked very hard every day to earn my school fees, and that the bruises on my mother’s hand were the price she paid for my academic excellence and future. I'm thankful to my mom who is always by my side and always supporting me even though we were in a very difficult financial situation.
One day, I realised that she was really getting old, she started to fall sick easily. Once, she fell off from the steps and til now she felt something wrong with the nerves on her back and now she can’t really walk and whenever she needs to go anywhere far, she needs someone to accompany her and she needs a wheelchair. I wish I still can travel with her and bring her to see beautiful places, but she simply told me that she don’t want to burden me.
When I started working overseas, I told my mom to stop working and take a rest. I promised her that she have sufficient money to support her living. From the day I started working, I promised my mom that I will be the breadwinner. Thus, I never fail to send her some of my income every month. My mom is my responsibility now.
I will not be where I am now if she is not around.
Whatever I am today, I owe it to you. You are the most special person in my life. Even I am not able to take care of you now since we are so far apart, you will always in my thoughts. I'll always pray for the best for you may God always protect you and give you health and happiness.
Thank you Mom! Happy Mother’s Day to my lovely mom,
