Browsing through Jacelyn's Instagram feed, it isn't too difficult to know that Jacelyn is a fashionista and she definitely makes good sartorial choices. We speak to Jacelyn, Miss Singapore Int'l 2016 1st Runner Up & Miss Elegance, and also our own blogger at MyFatPocket, to find more about her, and gain some insights into fashion trends and styling.
1. Tell us more about yourself.
I am Jacelyn; on a full-time basis, I work for a listed Feng Shui company as a corporate speaker and Marketer. I model professionally with The Nu Management and blog on MyFatPocket as well. During my free time, I like to go for yoga zen to gain some sanity amidst my crazy work schedule.
2. What made you join the beauty pageant last year?
I founded a facial speciality beauty salon, Le Queenz, in 2014, and it’s my personal belief that beauty is within reach of everyone. Joining Miss Singapore International in 2016 was to inspire and empower women, and let other women know that beauty is within each one of us.
3. How did you get started on blogging/ fashion Instagraming?
I love everything related to beauty and in fact, I consider myself a late bloomer. I went to into fashion Instagraming and blogging really late as compared to my peers, but, better late than never right?
4. Where do you get your style inspirations from?
Instagram! Andrea Chong is one my favourite style icons; I love how she can always look so effortlessly chic.
5. What is your daily go-to style like?
Feminine outfits are my favourites! I like outfits that showcase my personality.
6. What are some of the must-have fashion items this season?
Definitely embellished florals and pieces with the Pantone colour 2017 (i.e. Greenery).
7. How do you stay up to date on fashion?
I read MANY magazines in a month. I subscribe to CLEO, 8 Days, HerWorld and read My Fat Pocket’s online articles to stay updated on trends.
However I like to invest in style classic items that suit my body shape, I am not a big follower of trends. I particularly like my collarbone so I can often be found in off-shoulder pieces.
8. Tell us something about accessorising.
With every season comes a new reason to change our accessories; especially when they don’t break the bank! I am into statement earrings to add some jazz to my outfit.
9. Any fashion tips for Singaporean ladies?
Always dress to impress, ignore those who say they don’t judge, they do!
