Fans of anime were definitely not disappointed at the annual C3 Anime Festival Asia. It was an exciting weekend of Anisong artistes, special guests, celebrity cosplayers, special premieres and a wide variety of Japanese popular culture content, from technology to food.

This year, C3AFASG17 will feature well-known Japanese artistes in Singapore for the first time. They include, 乃木坂 46 (NOGIZAKA46), ClariS, Ayasa, Shiena Nishizawa, Tomohisa Sako, Luce Twinkle Wink☆, Moso Calibration, and Iris.
2. Meet celebrity cosplayers and special guests from all over the world
Enthusiastic fans cheered and snapped away when celebrity cosplayers Baozi & Hana appeared on the Super Akiba Stage.
Meet the celebrity cosplayers who bring anime characters to life with their more than perfect cosplays. Thames Malerose from Thailand, and Serg Loki from Russia was in Singapore for the first time this year. Fans also got to meet Angie (from Malaysia), Baozi & Hana (from China), Enako (from Japan), 黎狱 (Liyuu from China), Rosiel Kayou (from Japan), and Punipun (from Indonesia).
3. Exclusive premieres and screenings
Fans were among the first to catch the latest at C3AFASG17, and the highly anticipated BEATLESS was presented overseas for the first time at the festival.
Hakata Tonkotsu Ramens also debuted a new trailer at C3AFASG17 ahead of Japan with special guest, Yusuke Kobayashi making an appearance at the convention.
Violet Evergarden, which was recently purchased globally by Netflix, will screen its first episode at the festival ahead of its Japanese broadcast in January 2018. This is the first time in Asia (outside of Japan) that fans can watch the first episode.There was a stunning guest line-up, from the show’s lead voice actress, to its screenwriter and character designer as well as the singers of the show’s theme songs at the exclusive booth for Violet Evergarden.
Record of Grancrest War’s first episode had its world premiere right here in Singapore and lead voice actor, Kentaro Kumagai was also present at the convention to meet fans of the anime.
This year, Mobile Suit Gundam 00 also celebrated its 10th anniversary at C3AFASG17 with appearances by legendary voice actor, Shin-ichiro Miki.

Aspiring anime hobbyists and interest groups set up booths to share and sell their anime-related artwork and crafts to the joy of their fans.
7. Specialised booths
Visitors could also explore the specialised booths for Black Butler: Book of the Atlantic and SACRA Music at the festival. These experiential booths, which are in Singapore for the first time, brought a new level of experience for festival-goers. The Black Butler booth featurVictorian-eran era style setting where fans got together to celebrate the movie release and be immersed in the world of Black Butler. The SACRA Music booth will showcase a wide range of artistes under SACRA MUSIC. Fans get to preview artiste profiles and their songs through the high-tech displays available within the booth.

8. Shop for anime merchandises
There were many booths that sold various anime merchandises and happy fans were seen leaving the booths with bags and bags of collectables.
9. Local cosplay enthusiasts
Did we hear that there's a lack of cosplayers in Singapore? You will know that you are so wrong if you visited the C3AFASG17. Local cosplayers stepped up in their cosplay game and we saw so many cosplayers that put in so much effort into their costumes. Watch out for this space as we dedicate a page especially to them.
