New York Fashion Week 2014 continued its reign in Manhattan Friday, Feb. 7 with designer Peter Som showing off his latest runway collection for fall/winter 2014.
Peter Som is one of several designer’s including Sydney fashion designer Rebecca Vallance who made her New York Fashion Week debut with her “Ladies Man” collection, which was inspired by androgynous dressing.
Som’s new collection exuded a 60s mod vibe with chic tailored silhouettes. Models sported bold colors with a heavy emphasis on gold and orange, and heavy splashes of black and white patterns.
Last night, celebrities hit the Fashion Week runway stage, modeling red hot dresses for the Heart Truth fall 2014 collection, according to Yahoo News. From actresses to reality television stars, models and athletes, everyone showed support for the event, which puts the spotlight on fighting heart disease. Yahoo News reports that the celebrities were excited and honored to be part of Red dress campaign event. Joan Jett, who showcased a red Catherine Malandrino jumpsuit, said the event was very personal because she lost her mother to congenital heart failure. “You got no heart, you got no life, so I think it's important for women to recognize that,” she said.
According to E! News, New York Fashion Week 2014 is scheduled to run through Feb. 13 at “the tents” at Lincoln Center, but some big names like Alexander Wang will show offsite.
