Everyone loves selfies. We know that for a fact because, well, we have written much about it.
In a recent report by Time Magazine, the Philippines is also home to selfiest cities in the world, with Malaysia following closely behind.
Last year, the term “Selfie” gained fame as Oxford Dictionaries’ Word of the Year. Earlier this month, Ellen DeGeneres took a selfie at the Oscars and the photo ended up being one of the most retweeted photo in the history of Twitter: 3.3 million retweets and counting.
To build on that momentum, Apple has just devoted a new section of its App Store exclusively to selfie photo apps. The new “Sharing Selfies” section caters to the broad needs of people who feel the urge to take photos of themselves and share them with others.
The Sharing Selfies section, revealed in a tweet by MacStories’ Federico Fiticci, is only visible to selected iPhone customers in certain countries. It is also accessible on the iTunes desktop app here. Users can head to the app store and look at all the apps which they can use to take more selfies.
One thing’s for sure, we are definitely going to see more selfies from now on.
