Singapore has always been a food haven, with its diverse selection of cuisines. From cheap local hawker food to Instagram-worthy cafe delights, our homeland is brimming with mouth-watering food. When you’re bringing your date out for a meal, do take note of the date setting! And if you’ve got a foodie for a date, this is quite possibly the way to win her heart.

Have you not heard? Waffles now make the world go round. With so many cafes in Singapore serving piping hot and aromatic waffles, it won’t be hard to find a place that serves them. There are several cafes teeming with really great waffles, such as Creamier, Assembly Coffee, Stateland Cafe and Strangers’ Reunion.
Take your date to one of these places and watch as she gleefully finishes this delightful dessert while telling you how much she loves waffles. You’re welcome.
2. Picnics

Apart from being Instagram-worthy, picnics are wonderful because you’re free to choose exactly what sort of food you want to eat. Moreover, having a picnic with your date would mean private time with her, and you can both take your time to chat and eat without worrying about restaurant/cafe staff chasing you off after you’re done eating.
More importantly, though, it’s important that you choose an ideal picnic location, because Singapore is terribly hot and humid. Remember to pick a shaded spot that is free from mosquitoes too.
3. Cook (well)
Somehow, it’s really impressive when a guy tells a girl that he can cook food. And I’m not referring to microwavable food, like maggi mee. I’m talking about real food, where he actually stands by the stove and whips up a delectable treat – without reading off a recipe. If he can confidently prepare a delicious meal for her, it’s definitely a plus point.
4. Go on a food hunt

It’s a good thing Singapore is pretty small; it makes travelling around so much more convenient. With good food so easily available around the island, why not take the opportunity to bring your date on a food hunt for the most highly-raved food around? This could include – but is not restricted to – cafe hopping, which is the air-conditioned option to get away from the humidity.
But if both of you are up for it, you can hunt for affordable hawker gems, such as Bak Kut Teh from Song Fa, Duck Rice from Heng Gi, and Oyster Omelette at Simon Road. My mouth is watering just writing about this.
5. Late Night Suppers

According to Ted from How I Met Your Mother, nothing good happens after 2am. I beg to differ though, especially when it comes to places like Singapore. In fact, the late night life here is bustling with people and food. Many food places here open up at night, and remain open all the way till wee hours of the morning. It’d be good if you could take your date out on a night drive to grab some supper. Be sure to check out places like Swee Choon, Al Azhar and Rochor Beancurd. Yum.
Evidently it’s not difficult to please a foodie in Singapore. If you’re dating one, you’ll know that your dates will always be exciting and adventurous. Lucky you!
