While we reminisce the memories we experienced back in the 90s, beauty trends are included as well and it seems that these trends are returning back once again!
1. Periwinkle Eyes
Don’t we all remember how this mesmerising sparkling eyelook we all tried to attempt before? Before cutting down to applying shimmery white eyeliner at the inner corners of your eyes, back in the 90s, adding shimmer to the perimeter of your eyes can be extremely alluring and is the best bet for sleepy lazy eyes!
2. Color-Streaked Hair
Whether it is hair mascara or hair crayon, colouring our hair in psychedelic colour streaks was the ‘in’ thing to do, especially for the then students who found this extremely exciting to use during the school holidays!
3. Blue nails
Regardless of the shade of blue and regardless of whether it was shimmery, glitter, metallic or plain solid colours, blue was the hottest nail colour every girl would want to don in. This colour can be loud and eye-catching and thus, not many girls are able to carry it off well without looking like an old vamp.
4. Vamp nails
Another hot favourite pick for the choice of nail colour is the vamp colour which can commonly be understood as maroon. I recall seeing my Mother wearing many shades of vamp colours and I thought they look too ‘old’ for me. Fast-forward a decade or so later, vamp colours are now seen on many young ladies, a colour which I now find very feminine and sexy.
5. Creamy shimmer eyes
Creamy shimmery eye makeup has actually never left the cosmetic industry scene if you are those who are daring enough to wear dramatic bold colours. It gives a totally different feel compared to those filled with glitter, something like a notch less dramatic but still able to create the ‘oomph’ impact.
6. Hair wraps
Who says hair wraps are only meant for kids? We say even adults can look good in them for that little country-side bohemian look, coupled with the right colour shades and make up outlook and fashion style, of course.
7. Frosty lips
Before nude colours were in, frosty lips were seen in several girls’ luscious lips as it creates the innocent girl-next-door look very-yummy lips kind of vibe. This plays sexy but yet is not too over the top.
8. Wine-coloured lips
Similar to vamp nails, we opine that wine-coloured is one colour that will never ever go out of trend. It is the first colour that comes to mind if one desires for a sexy sultry pout lips that displays the matured edgy look.
9. Natural look
Majandra Delfino, in the tv show, Roswell is donning the natural look which is extremely popular in our current beauty scene and I am a fan of natural make up look myself as well!

10. French-manicure
Simplicity is at its best with French manicures. Taking this design to a whole new level, the current trend plays around with French manicure by combining different colours and different designs. A pretty smart (pun intended) fusion I must say.
I love this 90s beauty trend because French manicure can ‘last’ longer than your usual manicure that covers your whole nail as the transparent bottom and top coats are not as obvious when your nail grows out.
Extremely good for those who love gel manicures which help to save time and money repainting it again!
