Some people see bloggers as someone with a lot of freebies but nobody can really empathize with us unless he or she is a blogger too.
The truth is, we lead a very very busy lifestyle. Not complaining, but I really enjoy being a blogger because I can get to meet new friends (although I can be quite anti-social on my first look).
We do not really have freebies because they are mostly in-exchange for a review or a blog post. We spend hours putting on make up, taking photos and drafting out a blog post for it. Nothing comes free or easy. Have you ever thought how hard it is to juggle between our full time job and having to maintain a blog? It takes a lot of time and effort.
What about attending events? We rush to the venue to attend the event, take some photos, mingle around and reach home late just to get enough information for the post. Tell me, how are we considered “bloggers get a lot of freebies one lah”.
Even though the journey is not easy, but if you enjoy what you are doing and you have passion for it, it is never too tiring for you.
Sometimes I get rewards for attending events like catching up with some of my good blogger friends – which then turn to good friends like Xinyi and Jamie.
I meet Xinyi quite often as we are both from My Fat Pocket and we have a lot of shit to talk. LOL. But Jamie on the other hand, is a ZAI NV who stays home all day. We need to lure her out of her cave by attending events together. HAHA.
Not everyone is nice because some bloggers can be really shitty and bitch about every single thing about you. roll eyes. Why make the blogger community dirty?
I also enjoy being a blogger because we get to experience products ranging from beauty to teach first even before it was launched in Singapore.
Take GlamGlow for instance. I was given the opportunity to try out two out of their 3 cleansers few months ago.
Also, attending interesting events as a blogger is also a bonus because we might not even hear about the event if we are not a blogger.
One really interesting one, which I attended recently, is Magnum. Their events never fail to impress every year.
I enjoy traveling and traveling can be expensive. Being a blogger, I get to travel to different countries (although I only visited two – Korea and Malacca) for events and reviews!
Sometimes, bloggers are also being sponsored to travel around for the airline or hotel review. I have yet to reach that stage yet though.
But yeah, this is part of my life as a blogger. I’ll be sharing more next time. My journey is so far so good.
