I have friends who are still confused and have the perception that aesthetics enhancements are equivalent to plastic surgeries. Although I am very open-minded, plastic surgery is definitely not in my priority list, yet. However, looking good & better is what I try to go for.
The best thing about aesthetics treatments & facial enhancements are that they are non-invasive; doesn't require me to go under the knife & of course, minimum to no downtime. Results usually last from 6 months to 1.5 years.
A couple of weeks ago I headed down to Cutis Medical Laser Clinics for my little but fabulous prettifying session with Dr Sylvia Ramirez.
I was absolutely buzzing with excitement! And... the doctor is so gorgeous!
Initially we had planned for nose, chin fillers & botox (botulinum toxin) in the jaws. After a professional consultation, Dr Sylvia & I both decided that the chin fillers shall go to my "deflated" cheeks instead!
Dr Sylvia informed me exactly what & where we will be doing, and also answered all my queries patiently. I understood that the Dermal Fillers that will be used is Jurvedem Voluma, which will last me a good 1.5 years.
Don't be frightened at the name of Botox - Botulinum toxin. This highly purified protein is injected in very small doses and is no toxin to the body.
All braced for the session!
First, face makeup has to be cleansed off.
Thank God, they left my eye makeup & brows untouched. ;-p
They then applied numbing cream to the areas that will be receiving the injections.
The numbing cream takes 10-15 minutes to take effect.
Prior to the fillers, ice was held lightly to the area to further numb it. I like it that they are so considerate & caring to try to minimize every little pain.
I didn't feel much. I didn't know when did the needle go into my nose. A short while later, my nose was done!
Only a drop of filler was added to my bridge (since it's already high), where the rest went to the tip of the nose. Still looking natural, isn't it!
Dr Slyvia, the MFP crew & I was chatting away while she did my cheeks fillers and jaw botox. The procedures all in all took only 15 minutes. The cheeks was slightly red & swollen. Minor bruising is also common. Makeup can easily cover that up.
A mask with menthol to reduce redness & swelling so that I can get out of the clinic looking great!
After the cooling mask, I thought I really look fine so I skipped my makeup! Except for that tiny bruise spot on the left cheek which you can barely see from far, I wasn't at all bothered. Instead, I was admiring my new youthful cheeks and sharper nose in the mirror.
The jaws now (2 weeks later after botox) has "slimmed" down a fair lot! No more muscular-looking jaws! ;-D
Tell me, how can I not love my face more & more? LOL!
Thanks to the very friendly Dr Sylvia, the lovely assistants at the clinic and also the MFP crew that made the entire process so relaxing!
