Five Things to Know About: Moschino

Jeremy Scott may be fashion's greatest provocateur. From sensational to plain silly, from outrageous to out-there, here's the stuff that made us gasp and grin at the MOSCHINO car wash...

1) THE SET

An asphalt road-cum-runway lined with road signs and danger tape, complete with working car washes with their rollers spinning and neon signs overhead declaring in bold neon lights, 'Dangerous couture ahead.'

2) SAFETY SUITS

The inimitable Moschino skirt suits (that riff on Chanel’s) came in neon yellow and high-vis orange with polite chain-strapped bags, sling-back heels and the occasional pussy bows. One black satin t-shirt dress blared, 'Moschino Slippery When Wet,'  and were teamed with over the knee orange beacon striped boots.

3) UTILITY MOSCHINO

All the tools you need to pump a tire or change a wheel were dangling off tool belts. How about an extra long bright red toolbox for a bag? Talk about useful. Need a safety helmet? They come in silver. Ear guards? They came in red or yellow leather.

4) MOSCHINO COUTURE

Not in the traditional sense. This meant shiny prom dresses with overblown skirts printed with Cadillac headlights. And a car wash dress in yellow and red fringing that looked like, well, the rollers on a car wash. Then came the feathers… Big Bird, eat your heart out.

5) JEREMY SCOTT

He took his bow in a black sweatshirt baring intertwined taps — car wash, gedit? — and the words Moschino Milano. And there were bubbles.
