Be it after a meal, or a late night snack in front of the TV, it can be hard to say no to desserts. What’s more, Singapore is a food paradise, where yummy snacks and local desserts are just a stone throw away, 24-7.

We do have our cheat days and while a few snacks here and there will not derail you from your diet plans, too much sweets may not be beneficial for your overall health. But if you do need to curb your cravings, here are some healthy ways that you can still satisfy your sweet tooth.
1. Fruits

Adding fruits to your snacks makes you fuller, which in turn will reduce the amount of sugar that you are taking in. One easy to make fruit dessert is our favourite Frozen Chocolate Banana. Have the chocolate you want, but add that nutritious touch to it with a banana, which is a great source of vitamin C and B6. Peel a banana and leave it in the freezer. Once it is solid, roll it over with melted chocolate and freeze it for another hour. We would advise you to skip any additional toppings like sprinkles or nuts though.
2. Watch your portions

It is really easy to reach out for that one more cookie. Take out 2 cookies and put them on a plate, and put the whole bag of cookies away in the kitchen. Deciding on the portion first gives you better control over how much you eat. The hassle of walking away from your favourite drama to the kitchen for more cookies will stop you from overeating.
3. Use healthier sugar
