Eat Healthy and Things Not to Do If You Want to Lose Weight

I am so happy that I have successfully lost 4 kg in the last 5 or 6 months and reached my ideal weight. It takes some discipline and determination. Here are some rules and things I follow:

- Don't Starve Yourself

It is always important to eat moderately with food with nutrition. Never starve yourself. It doesn’t mean that when there is no food intake you can lose weight fast. Everyone NEEDS food. Food is needed to fuel your bodies to get through each day. Denying your body sustenance will only cause you to overeat the next time you do eat, meaning you'll take in too many calories at one sitting. Best solution is eating 5 small meals evenly spaced throughout the day so you keep your body nourished while at the same time control the amount of calories you do put into your body. Research on good food to take is a good way.

- Don't Snack During Leisure Time

The worset is when we are watching tv, reading a book, browsing the Internet or doing anything during leisure time that allows us to be tempted to SNACK! I used to be so bad at this and snacked whenever I felt bored. Ice creams, potato crisps, soft drinks, chocolates and all these snacks contain hundreds of calories which we don’t need. Now I try to snack on fruits and nuts if I really have to. I try not to buy snacks when I go for supermarket shopping and convince myself that I will put the money saved on snacks to buying more clothes, shoes or things that I really want.

- Don't Buy Unhealthy Food/Drinks

I try to read the labels to see and compare the fats and calories when I shop for food stuffs. This is a good habit to cultivate I feel. I discovered that a lot of food which I thought was healthy didn’t turn out so and it's possible to find alternatives to use in my cooking. Try to count and monitor your calories intake everyday. There are many apps that can help you do so.

- Don't Eat Late At Night

Golden rule: no eating after 8pm. If you really have to - like if you work late or you are somehow starving out of a sudden that your previous dinner did not fill you up - then try not to eat anything three hours before you go to sleep. Eating late at night does not give your body the chance to burn off those calories before going to sleep so guess where they will end up. Stuck right around your belly, back, legs or chest. Dinner should be the smallest meal of the day ranging from 400-600 calories including drinks.

- Don't Eat Until You're Stuffed

Your brain takes 20 minutes to get the information from the stomach that it is full. So try eating slower and stop when you feel 70% full. One trick is to drink a lot of water with your meal, and you'll find that you really don't need that much food to get full. Your body will thank you afterwards. Not only does water have absolutely zero calories, but it helps make everything move along smoothly through the digestive process. Get in the habit of always having a container of water with you so you're never empty-handed during the day.

- Don't Drink Soda or Soft Drinks

If you get rid of just one soda per day, over the course of a year you'll eliminate 54,750 calories! I banned my hubby from buying soft drinks and colas because every time I see them in the fridge especially coming back from the hot scotching weather outside I will be so tempted to drink it. All these sugars, flavoring and coloring from the carbonated drinks potentially being put into your body is also bad for you. Try to chang all your drinks to water!
