Chinese New Year is a time of munching on our favourite pineapple tarts and bak kwas. With all the yummy food and grandma's scrumptious dinners, we welcomed not just the Rooster year, but also our new little bulging tummy. Of course, that didn't do very well for our dress size and before we even realized it, Valentine's is only 2 weeks aways and we badly want to fit into our little dress to go for that romantic dinner.

Here are some tips for you to help you on your weight loss journey. To a trimmer and fitter us!
1. Set realistic goals
Don't set goals that are quite the impossible because that may set you back and demotivate you on your weight loss journey if you didn't achieve them. For example, it is not wise to set a "lose 5kg a week" goal because that is very difficult to attain and it is very unhealthy at the same time.
2. Eat small, frequent meals
Light, frequent meals can help to curb your cravings and energy level will be boosted throughout the day to prevent unnecessary snacking. The best part? Eating small, frequent meals help to boost metabolism because the body knows that there will be food all the time and there is no need to store energy. But that said, we are talking about healthy food for those meals, not junk food!
3. Avoid too much carbohydrates in the evening

We need carbohydrates for energy but because we are getting into our "rest mode" and are least active at night, it is recommended that we consume less carbohydrates at night since we do not need that much energy. We don't want the unused sugars to be stored as fats when we don't use them up.
4. Get some new workout gear
Who is not excited about new clothes?! Getting some new workout gear can get us motivated to go for our next fitness class, or head down to the gym more enthusiastically.
