You probably did not know this, but there is an island in the Bahamas that is inhabited only by a group of about 20 pigs and piglets—that incidentally, are great swimmers.

Some Redditors were lucky enough to visit Big Major Cay—otherwise known as Pig Beach—located in Exuma, the Bahamas, where they were able to swim and sun-bathe with these friendly creatures.

These pigs were supposedly dropped off on the island by sailors, who intended to come back and cook them but never did return—the lucky pigs survived on excess food dumped by passing ships and lived happily ever after.

Scroll down for more images of these adorable amphibious mammals, who apparently feel so secure that they have no qualms about sharing their beach with a bunch of bacon-eating humans.
