Every year in Hershey, Pennsylvania in the US, a creative grooming competition takes place, where dog owners compete to produce the most ‘extreme’ and ‘creative’ dog designs.

Using some sort of hair dye, owners would dye and shear their pets to make them look like cartoon characters and other wild animals.

Taken by animal photographer Ren Netherland, the photos below show some of the craziest and most outrageous designs at the competition.
