It’s time for a holiday! And there are many benefits of keeping it regional. You save on costs, travel time (no long haul flights!), get more bang for your buck with favourable exchange rates (yay Singapore dollar!)  and get to explore neighbouring countries.

Treat that special someone to a romantic beach holiday in Asia. If you need fresh ideas on where to go, here are some regional destinations suitable for a special romantic experience.

1. El Nido, Palawan in the Philippines

El Nido is paradise. The photographs are nowhere near the reality of what is on ground. You need to be there to see things for yourself. Imagine, crystal clear waters, spotless white sand beaches, unspoilt natural landscapes and impressive cliffs all found in one place. Do not hesitate because of it looks and sounds like an expensive destination because even on a tight budget you can still experience paradise.

2. Koh Samui, in Thailand

This is where I had my honeymoon. Koh Samui is a slightly bigger island than most beach destinations (it is the third largest island in Thailand). While it is rather touristy, you will not have to worry about being entertained by love alone (lol). There is lots to do there. Get around the island to try out activities like trekking and sightseeing. If you want to be right in the middle of the fun on Chaweng beach, one place for you is the library. This hotel is situated on a large property by the sea side. Your privacy is guaranteed as it has only 26 rooms. The blood red swimming pool of the hotel will add a unique ambience to your photographs.

3. Marari Beach Resort in India

Not many have heard about Mararikulam situated in Kerala. This is another new village in Kerala land. The beach is a lovely destination which is largely intertwined with the coastal culture of Malabar. This not like the usual beach resort: there is no television to watch or holiday activities such as beach parties or surfboarding. This place lets you spend some time with the butterflies; it allows you walk totally aimlessly on paths with wildflower. You could get some quality couple bonding time there.

4. Belitung Island in Indonesia

This destination is off the beaten track. Spend your romantic holiday in Belitung, Indonesia. It is a little island with fascinating scenery, beautiful beaches and a captivating landscape adorned with awesome granite stone formations. While you are here, you can watch the hawksbill turtles in Lengkuas island swim with the sharks in Nangka island and explore the caves located in Seadong Island.

5. Vivanta, Rebak Island In Malaysia

For en exclusive getaway, check out Vivanta. This is a resort built on a privately owned island. The blue sea flirts with vibrant jungles and secluded beaches. Consider unwinding at Vivanta, Rebak Island with stunning rock formations, tropical climate, and a natural forest setting dating back to over a hundred million years. If you’re one for creature comfirts, don’t worry because the resort itself is by no means a rough place, in fact it’s quite lush and luxurious. Makes for a great couple’s holiday where you will be kissed by teeming marine life and crystal clear waters.
