Most of us are familiar with Kit Kat's crispy, creamy chocolate wafers which, thanks to the ingenuity of Japanese taste engineers, come in myriad flavors like orange, strawberry, and green tea. Now Kit Kat fans have even more reason to indulge in their love of the delicious bars at the world’s first Kit Kat store.

The Kit Kat Chocolatory opened at the Seibu Department Store in Ikebukuro, Tokyo. It is located in the basement along with other food outlets and vendors.

According to Kotaku, the specialty shop will only sell gourmet Kit Kats and will partner with sweet shop Le Patissier Takagi to develop new Kit Kats aimed at adults as well as seasonal flavors. There are currently three limited edition flavors available: ‘Sublime Bitter’ made with couverture chocolate, a very high quality chocolate that contains extra cocoa butter, ‘Special Cherry Blossom Green Tea’ made with cherry blossom extract, and ‘Special Chili’, which contains a chilli pepper cream filling. Visitors can expect more exciting and unusual flavors to follow.

Fashionsnap reported that sales of the ‘Sublime Bitter’ flavor are limited to 300 bars a day as the couverture is done by hand. A single bar is priced at 315 yen and a box of ten bars costs 3,413 yen. There were 500 bars available on the opening day, which sold out in an hour and 40 minutes.

For Kit Kat chocoholics, this would be a great reason to visit Tokyo to check out the shop’s unique-to-Japan flavors.
